We’re excited to announce that Lamoille Valley Partners (Building Bright Futures, Lamoille Family Center, Department of Health and others) will host a sneak preview of the Raising of America and a community discussion, as part of a series of discussions being held across the state, addressing the importance of early childhood. We hope you’ll join us on October 30, 5:30-7:30 PM at the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center, 738 Vt 15 W, Hyde Park, VT.
We are collaborating with Let’s Grow Kids as well as many other statewide organizations and agencies on Raising of America Conversations – a series of events featuring a 30-minute sneak peek of the powerful new Raising of America PBS documentary with a community conversation afterwards.
Currently, 40 to 50% of Vermont children arrive at kindergarten unprepared. Why is this happening, what are the consequences, and how can we build a firm foundation for our children’s future success in school, relationships and the workforce?
Join us to explore these questions. The two-hour event features: a 30-minute sneak peek of the new Raising of America documentary; a 15-minute presentation on the brain science of early development by Dr. Sarayu Balu, MD; an hour-long community conversation with a local panel, including the perspectives of the panelists, Q&A, and a ‘what you can do to create positive, lasting change for children in Lamoille Valley.’
